Story of My Job : Business Development

Have you ever wondered what business development does in pharmaceutical industry?

Let me tell you briefly about my job-story as a business developer..

Let's flash back to several years ago. I started my very first career in pharmaceutical industry in September 2014.

FIRST JOB

I became a team member in a business development department at a certain pharmaceutical company. But my job was actually focusing on export division. 

What skill is needed ? Well, the most important thing is you MUST be able speak, listen and write in ENGLISH. 

Another important skill required is you should know how to sell your product to the others (you can actually learn this skill in Marketing Department)

Most challenge-ing in first job ? Okay, so my English was bad. I couldn't speak, listen, or write in English very well.

P.S I even promised to myself, I wouldn't want a job that involved a lot of English conversations in it.

Then, you probably ask me why I still stay in this field when I didn't want to improve my English.

Most favorite moment in first job ? I found great friends and got a lot of experience such us negotiating with people, following up some projects and participating in great events. 

SECOND JOB - Now

One time, an opportunity came over to me. But I was still in business development department. And at that moment, my job was focusing in new product pipeline.

What skill is needed ? Well, it's still the same as my first job, should be able to speak, listen and write in English. Maybe God gave me a chance to improve my English so He trusted me to do bigger project. And until today, I really love learning English and want to be better and better again. 

Other skill is you should be understood "behind the scene" process before product launched to market. 

Most challenge-ing situation ? Patience in hasty condition and learn the process of new product development cycle since basically my knowledge is in clinical department. 

Most favorite moment ? Meet new people, build new project, improve my knowledge of product development concept. 

Actually, that's so many stories about joyful and sadness moment when I can be a part of new product launched in Indonesia market. 

Until this story published, I still focusing and learning in business development for growing myself to better future.
